UAE

WEDNESDAY 21 JANUARY 2015

Hey there thought I'd update you all on a few things going on in Abu Dhabi and Dubai that you may not have heard about and are worth a visit. I really have to give credit to Instagram I would never have known about these festivals so social media is not only about pretty pictures and hashtags I was going to bring you this post after we checked these places out but that would be pointless if they were no longer running.

SEEING THROUGH THE LIGHT EXHIBIT - MANARAT AL SAADIYAT TILL 26TH MARCH 2015 ABU DHABI

Currently running Seeing through the light is a pre-opening exhibition put on by the Guggenheim. It's a sneak peak of what curators will bring to the museum in the future although the exhibit may seem small with 19 installations it  is no less exciting  with one of the highlights being the infinity room pictured as above and below  it is really something to see  - a stunning use of light, water, and mirrors that make you feel like your dancing in the milky way.... a walk through this exhibit combined with  morning or afternoon tea at FANR Restaurant makes for a nice cultural outing.I have been to this one so can vouch for it personally.

MARKET OUT OF THE BOX - SOUTHRIDGE PARK DOWNTOWN DUBAI 15-24 JANUARY 2015

Coinciding with Dubai Shopping Festival is Market Outside The Box - the idea being that upcoming or established retailers sell new concepts from used shipping containers randomly placed within Southridge Park with eateries and entertainment provided. This sounds like a good afternoon or evening out, This seems similar to a market I have tried in Australia so it will be good to see what Dubai has to offer. I am already interested in a few vendors Mochi, West LA Boutique and Dumye Dolls and this the second year running and has had success in the past.

DUBAI INTERNATIONAL KITE FESTIVAL - JUMERIAH BEACH 29-31ST JANUARY 2015

I have only read a little about the event and having kids has definitely sparked some interest  enough to check it out, it seems to be back for the second year with over 70 participants from 25 International countries this time round. Sounds like it could be a fun day out on Jumeriah Beach and quite a display in the air all the colours and animals- the weather seems perfect for kites might I add. I also the know the Salt food truck is just a little drive down the road a bit - worth the trip to combine the both.
