Last weekend we got the pleasure to brunch at Leopolds of London, it's the new hotspot on Reem Island's Boutik Mall. Now it might be Leopolds of London but it's reminiscent to me of a trendy soho cafe in New York with it's sleek black furniture, chalkboard pots, white tiled walls and triangle down lights.. I mean even the  baristas have some street cred in their cool fedoras.

We took in a brunch and without looking at the menu I knew I wanted to try the lasagne as I'd already heard rave reviews ...I'm pretty sure most Nonnas (Italian grandmas) have not tried a Lasagne like this ...the twist being that the meat sauce is actually braised beef short ribs and yes it was as delicious as it sounds, the hubby licked his plate clean with the eggs benedict, yoghurt with turkish fig and muesli, and a cheese croissant....a hearty breakfast for sure.

It is as much about the food as it is about the drinks and this comes with a little bit of theatre. We chose to participate in their 'Coffee Lab' by ordering the manual shot, it was quite the experience having a one on one science class with the barista learning about the ancient techniques they use at your own table. The teas are also very interactive served with your own pot, and hour glass for monitoring the teas brewing time. But for me its in the details I love the way they serve hot chocolate in hug mugs and milkshakes in the old school milk bottles.

With an extensive menu, more stores opening across the capital, the option to shop at their own deli, take away, a delivery service and indoor/outdoor patio dining (that was quite a mouthful) theres something for everybody... 

It seems laugh at loud is not trending anymore it is now Leopolds of London.
