We've had a pretty busy travel schedule this summer trying to escape the heat and humidity of the middle east. After our fleeting trip to Doha we stopped to visit family in the south of France for a week in a place called Uzes. Something has to be said for the simplicity of life there it's like all your senses become alive again with the scent of lavender in the air, the sounds of crickets and birds chirping, and the tastes of wine, olives and fresh bread.

The South is extremely green and incredibly charming with it's aged alleyways, cobblestoned streets, great produce and sunflowers for days. I actually caught myself with an ear to ear grin staring down a field of sunflowers, I think I found the secret to inner happiness tell me you don't feel the same when you come across one and I won't believe you. We also had the perfect weather with the warmth of the sun but a cool breeze even a thunderstorm visited us one day something this expat got embarrassingly excited about.

For a welcomed change take my advice and visit the country you'll get just as much out of it as you would a highly charged action packed city vacation. I think the only stress your likely to encounter is the width of the roads, and the choice of bread. Enjoy the photo diary!!!
