MAKE & DECORATE A GINGERBREAD HOUSE
I have been dying to open up todays activity, I was gifted this Gingerbread house a little after December started and have been patiently waiting to put it together. It is actually an advent concept where you put the house together and then add some thing daily to give the house character, until its final day when it is complete. However since we both have too many things going and it was late we decided to do it all as one. The house comes in a wooden box with absolutely everything you need ; obviously the house pieces to construct, royal icing, the piping bag, the lid becomes the base for the house and even the box it comes in converts into a stand for all the envelopes, Honestly this is truly an original concept, it is also the cutest little house you ever did see, especially on final reveal. Log (chocolate flakes) lean against the cabin, Santa skis on the roof whilst coconut snow lies around the cabin, a snowman and a little reindeer have come to visit, an it seems the owners have a bought a real xmas tree and forgotten to take it off the car roof. The detail is everything we even added a big flurry of icing sugar at the end for that snowstorm effect. Whats even better than all of this though almost everything is edible.
We have the most amazing aroma in our house, I don't think the smell or the house will be lasting that long though. This was a great activity to do together and unlike the conventional house we didn't drop copious amounts of candy and gorge along the way, we really enjoyed transforming it into our own and can't stop admiring its charm.
